Mission

At First Presbyterian Church of Garland, our mission is simple yet profound: to bring together diverse cultures in unity and love so that together we may share the love of Jesus with the world.

Inspired by the biblical story of Pentecost, where people from different nations and languages were united by the power of the Holy Spirit, we seek to create a community where all are welcomed and valued.

We live out our mission in concrete ways, extending a helping hand to those in need both locally and globally. In our local community, we serve meals to our neighbors through our weekly Community Breakfast and daily sack lunch ministry. Additionally, we support a family camp in East Texas and a health clinic in Garland, ensuring access to vital resources and services for those in need.

Beyond our borders, we extend our mission through international outreach efforts, including building houses in Mexico, donating funds to the Presbyterian seminary in Pakistan, and supporting initiatives to translate the Bible around the world. Through these endeavors, we spread God’s message of love and hope to every corner of the earth.

First Presbyterian Church’s mission is not just a statement of belief—it is a way of life. Join us as we work together to build a world where diversity is celebrated, compassion is abundant, and love knows no boundaries.
